Bitly links

I wanted to shorten my website's link, so shortened it using Bitly and tried to paste the link to my What I'm Working on section. Then the bad detector thought that I was inappropriate, so it gave me an alert about that.

Seriously, are Bitly links considered as inappropriate on Scratch?

Bitly links

Yes, because what if it redirected to malware or something inappropiate?

I clicked it and it brought me to my website, as expected

Still, Scratch can't guarantee the website is safe so it's best to ban that.

Wow seriously?
Bitly is supported by many well-known brands like Microsoft and Ebay…

Is the link too long for the About Me box? If Scratch doesn't like bitly, try using goo.gl, a more well-behaved URL shortener.

You are not allowed to use url shorteners on Scratch because there's no easy way to tell where they redirect to.

What if someone posted the shortened link on the Member Created Sites topic and got it approved?

That's probably a different case - nobody's tried AFAIK.
