The project has failed to load and the Scratch Team has been notified

When I try to load most of my scratch projects, I get an error: “The project has failed to load and the Scratch Team has been notified.” This affects most of my projects. Maybe it's because they're old - I uploaded them in Scratch 1.4, on the old website. If the scratch team was notified, they haven't yet fixed it.

The only project that I know loads and works fine is my featured project “Neapolitan's Ice Cream,” which is my favorite project and which I've kept up-to-date (I've had to fix a few bugs that appeared over the years).

But pretty much all of my other projects fail to load, and it's kind of annoying. I was wondering how to fix it, or if the Scratch team could fix it. I would try the obvious solution and re-upload my projects, but I don't if that's really possible in Scratch 2.0; also, all my views, love-its, favorites, remixes, and comments would disappear from those projects.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hmm… Sorry I don't do 1.0 projects.

I don't think the ST will fix anything that has to do with older versions of Scratch, sorry.

I think you misunderstand. I use this cool thing called the Scratch API. I can download any project (even ones that are deleted forever) It's just that 1.0 projects are still binary.

Okay if the scratch team won't officially fix it that's fine but does anyone have a solution?

Also, my projects were made in 1.4, not 1.0.

Yes it's the CDN. I don't this I can publicly share this info as people can download other's unshared projects. This can lead to stealing and posting someone else's project without remixing.

Any projects that were made before 2.0 can't be played anymore because the coding is out-dated and is broken, hope this helped!

1.4 projects can actually load. It's just like the same reasons: the project got corrupted. This project is made with 1.x and it isn't corrupted.

I think the version you were thinking of was 1.x
Anyways, why not download the .sb2 (get Dylan5797 to do that) and convert it to a .sb with Kurt and then reupload?

Hi GizzardGulp,

You can upload your 1.4 projects to scratch 2.0 using the scratch 1.4 editor. Unfortunately it will have another project id. Let me know if you are missing backups of your project.

What are the URLs of your projects?

Dylan I don't need to recover the projects, as I have them downloaded to my computer. If, however, you can recover my projects and keep their original project ID, that would be really helpful.

Thanks RjLance. I may create a new scratch account to showcase my projects, and keep this account, -GizzardGulp-, to showcase my comments and whatnot - LOL.

Sorry, not unless I was logged in as you. I think I'm going to write a tool in Python that you can log in and reset your broken project to the default scratch cat. Give RjLance your URL and he can fix your page for now. Just remember the URL.

Hope this helps,

Dylan5797

I just checked and found that all my projects, except for Neapolitan's Ice Cream and my recently uploaded Avatar Project, are broken (that means there's ten broken projects). You can find their URLs by just going to my profile. If RjLance can fix them, keeping their original project IDs, that'd be great. RjLance, can you set all my broken projects back to the blank scratch cat one, so that then I can at least open them and edit them? Then, would it be easy to upload my 1.4 projects, filling the blank projects (and maintaining the same project IDs), and reshare them? Also, Dylan, since you seem to know a way of doing this, I would share my user and password with you, so that you could erase all the contents of my broken projects, but not erase the projects themselves. Or if it's simple you could tell me how to do it and I would do it myself.

Thank you,
Snout

Hi -GizzardGulp- ,

Please do not share your username and password! It is not safe and it is against our community guidelines. We are working on your issue. Please be patient.

Hey -GizzardGulp-

Your projects have now the default cat project and I was able to verify this. However, the project is still failing to load. This means that this is more than a corrupted JSON.

We are investigating. I will try and keep you posted once I have more information.

If you need assistance in recovering your projects, please let me know.

Thanks RjLance! The projects loaded for me, with just the scratch cat and blank background, and I was able to upload one of my projects. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1733185/
It worked, I kept same ID, and it'll be very easy: I'll finish uploading my other projects sometime soon.

Thanks again,
Snout

No password giving-outing!!!! It's against the guidelines and I think it's a bad idea going on someone else's account.
