This forum is to figure out who is the best villain in the series. This includes reformed villains such as Gilda, Discord and Sunset Shimmer. This deals with both popularity and their effectiveness as a villain and the impression they left on the show itself.

Let's start with Nightmare Moon. She is either the smartest villain or the stupidest. She wants the ponies of Equestria to respect her night. Although, since the main diet of ponies is produce, the lack of sun will stop those from growing. Ponies will not have anything to eat. How can anypony respect the night if there's nopony alive to do so?

Plus, Mine is about a specific topic!

I like Discord the most because he reminds me of Q from star trek, who is my second favorite star trek character.

They are all equally good. They just manage to be good in different ways.
