BTW, here are some of my fav features of RoR:

A person so you can walk around, get in and out of vehicles, and spawn new vehicles:

Working doors, hoods, stop signs and other moving parts in RoR:

Headlights, turn signals, and other types of lights (aka flares in ror):

I'll post more pictures soon.

So you could run RoR pretty decently with probably up to 3/4 of the mods, but the very detailed mods may cause lag. So overall, yes, I would say that's good enough.

Here. Choose the first one, “Download the latest stable release”. The newest version actually came out just a couple weeks ago and has tons of bugfixes and new features compared to the older, commonly used versions, which are 0.38.67 and 0.4.0.7. The download link I gave you is to 0.4.5, which is the best version yet.

BTW, just a heads up, when you are downloading terrain mods (extra maps to drive in), make sure that it is designed for or converted to 0.4 or else it won't work in the 0.4.x versions of RoR, since 0.4.x uses a new and faster terrain system. Here are quite a few terrains that are for 0.4.x versions: http://www.rigsofrods.com/threads/109425-Updated-terrains-for-0-4-0-7

Some nice vehicle mods in general are found here and in the RoR mod repo. These don't have to be designed for 0.4.x. Have fun!

Any mod by Gabester on the RoR forums is very good. Here are some other good mods:
2009 Chevy Kodiak
1st gen Dodge trucks
The thing
Dodge Ram truck
Fall run terrain
Benchmark Layout testing area
Monster Truck stadium

There's tons more good ones, and those are just a few.
