Coldplay just recently has released their new single Atlas which is set to be the core of the soundtrack for the next Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire. Youtube
In two days, the lyric video is already nearing two million views. I'm a lot more excited for Coldplay than I was for Taylor Swift on the last soundtrack (Although I did enjoy Safe and Sound, I'm not sure if that was because I liked the song or was in some obsession at that point. I read the book in a day, right up before the release of the movie which I then proceeded to watch, all of which was toward the end of my two week spring break where I had little to no contact with humans IRL besides my parents. I think at that point I was kind of insane.) and the new song seems kind of throwback. What do you guys think?

Seemed alright. A bit generic, and I don't really like the snare sound on the drum at the end.

It's a lot different than most of Coldplay's recent music like Paradise and Viva la Vida, though it seems to emphasize the piano like on some of their older songs like The Scientist and Gravity. Nonetheless, I like their new song.

I hope it's the ending theme. It reminds me of Abraham's Daughter.

Caught in the fire= 12/the arena being blown up
Say oh= Katniss realising what Beetee was doing with the knife
Carry the world= Katniss and Peeta not being able to survive without the other
