what must the image be saved as (.svg, etc.) for it to be valid. I made a logo in scratch, saved the costume to a local file, but I can only save it as an .svg or as ‘all files’. I tried putting .png, .jpg, among others at the end of the name and then set it to all files but it is still invalid. Im really confused. :S

is the sprite vector? to upload an image as your icon, it *must* be bitmap, otherwise iis svg (i think) and won't load

k, ill try it but wont that just reduce the quality?

It has to be a .png or a .gif (which I doubt it because those have low quality). No renaming. That doesn't convert it.

It has to if you want that image to be your profile picture.

not to much. it just becomes slightly more pixelated

Use a gif and then it will let you. Sometimes it has to much of something and you cant use it on scratch.
