If you are a Scratcher and you have anything to add, tell me here!Branding is a really good way to get noticed. Pick fonts and colors that match your style and make an icon and into that show what you can do!

I'd suggest adding having a good image: just being generally kind, helpful and enthusiastic can gain you respect and make people more likely to follow you when they come across you or your projects.

ITopic- Achieving more followers (for New Scratchers)
Hi guys,
If you're reading this then you probably saw the title and decided to come have a look. After all, who doesn't want more followers? In this guide I will explain some of the strategies Scratchers use to gain more followers.
I'm going to start with just a little information about followers. You can follow a Scratcher by going to their profile page and clicking the big blue “follow” button. You can unfollow them the same way. When you follow a Scratcher, they receive a notification saying “…. is now following you”. So, what does following someone actually do? Well, according to the Scratch Wiki article, “Users see the projects of Scratchers they follow in the ”Projects by Scratchers I'm Following“ section of the Front Page. Users can also see the activity (liking, favoriting, or sharing projects) of Scratchers they've followed in the What's Happening section of the front page.” So basically, it will show you what that Scratcher is doing and when they are doing it.
Now, I may be reasonably new to Scratch, but I currently have 16 followers, and that number is constantly growing. When I first started, however all I wanted to do, was be followed. I would just like to say that Scratch is not about followers. Scratch is about sharing projects and being part of one big community. However, it's nice to have some followers, so here are some common strategies:
1. Follow4Follow (DON'T DO THIS).
This is perhaps the most controversial method of getting more followers. It involves two Scratchers following each other for no real reason. Often one will post on another users page “F4F?” Many Scratchers will Follow4Follow always, and will sometimes even have it in their name. I don't recommend this strategy, and it is frowned upon by the community. It also doesn't really show how good a Scratcher you are, and places a high emphasis on fame. There are many Scratchers who follow4follow but this isn't recommended as it won't really make you more popular.
2. Following yourself
There is a bug were you can follow yourself. This is how you can do it:
1. You need another account. Make one if you don't have one. Log into it.
2. Go to "http://scratch.mit.edu/users/username“, replacing ”username“ with the username of the account you wish to follow itself.
3. Click the user menu in the upper-right corner. Right click ”Log out“ and have it ”Open in a new tab“.
4. In this new tab it should appear as if you are logged out. Log in again as the account on which you will follow yourself.
5. Go back to the first tab and click ”Follow“.
This is helpful but it only gets you one follower.
3. Spending time to make better projects and studios
People are more likely to follow you if they like your projects. You should try to make as many good projects as you can to increase your chance of getting followed. If someone likes your projects then there is a good chance you will earn a follow. You can do the same with studios. If you make a studio that will appeal to people then they might follow you. It helps if you add them as curator or manager as well.
4. Participating on the forums
Posting on the forums is a great way to become better known to the Scratch community. Try to help people out as much as possible. The help with scripts and requests forums are great for helping people out. If you see someone that needs something which you know how to do, then give them a hand, and who knows? Maybe they will follow you! Try to make your posts relevant and helpful and you will become more popular in no time!
5. Using a forum signature (thanks Critic2100!). If you use the forums a lot, then you can make a signature for yourself. A signature is a piece of text or an image that will go at the bottom of all your posts. If you have an image, you can make it link to your profile page (like mine!). You could also make it link to your best game or anything that you want people to see and that you think will get you more followers. You can put in a signature by clicking, ”discuss“ then scrolling down and clicking ”change your signature“.
6. Commenting on other peoples projects
If you find someones project, then try and tell them what you thought of it. You don't need to say every project is amazing, but if it is a good project then you should post something nice about it. E.g “great project!” or “this was really fun!”. If it's not so great don't be mean about it, try to posts some constructive criticism. E.g instead of saying “the graphics are terrible” say something like “the graphics could use some work, but the rest was great!”
7. Make projects around what you like
For example, if you like art then try and make arty projects. If you like music, then try making some music. Generally, these projects will be better then something you try to do that is outside your comfort zone. People will like your projects more and therefore you will get more followers! People may also have the same interests as you, and want to follow you to see what you will do in the future!
8. Joining collabs
Joining collabs is a great way to get to know some Scratchers. If you're unsure what a ”collab" is, is stands for collaboration and is when Scratchers come together to make a project! There si a whole section on the forums! It will make you more popular and well known! Look for collabs which say that they're hiring in the title.
So, those are some tips on how to earn yourself some more followers, I hope you take this in to account and use these strategies. Just remember, though, followers are only a very small part of Scratch. As long as you think that you're a good Scratcher, then you will be fine!

a suggestion that i have to get a little more popular (possibly) is if you see someone who has a between 100 and 1000 followers (so that they aren't always getting attacked by messages) who is nice is on at the same time as you, think of something weird and start a conversation on their profile about the weird thing that you thought about. I started a conversation with @fatkidplayer that way about eating cat food. I found out he's allergic to cats

You might also want to add “Helping in the Welcomig Committee” to list of places to help. I earned lots of followers helping there. The “Questions About Scratch” forum too.
