Real-Life Pokemon?
Anybody else out there wish that pokemon were real? Science seems advanced enough nowadays to be able to do it. Even cooler would be if we were able to turn into Pokemon at will. Sadly, the second option is completely out of the question. I keep hoping for a real-life pokemon MOVIE, though. Hopefully with a trainer besides Ash. He must be at least 22 by now, people. Look at this picture here. That picture could be possible, right? What we don't want are Charizard, Mewtwo, any of those guys. No legendaries except the tiny ones, like Celebi or Jirachi or Mew. Let's see if maybe this is possible.

Real-Life Pokemon?
1) As a Pokémon lover, it would be awesome if they were real, but, how would society change? I mean, if the world was somehow filled with water, fire, energy, electricity spawners etc. then I believe in would get a bit out of control. And then we have physic types…
2) Turning into a Pokémon would be amazing, but then again, society ruins it. I'm talking about “scientists.” The antagonists in most Pokémon fan fiction. If in real life you were seen as a Pokémon… *shivers* However if (like in the PMD series) you'd warp to the Pokémon world and transform, I'd see no downside.
3) No “objections” there. But that would take tons of effort, maybe if a professional movie making company like Sony signed a contract with Nintendo…then maybe… (Also who drew that Pikachu? Thats really good.)

Wouldn't Pokemon take over if they were real though? There are billions of each one (Ex. Over a billion Pikachus) and combining the billions of them with how many Pokemon are officially recorded in the Pokedex (Over 600, keep in mind), the human race would be easily overthrown.

i don't have an issue with this one. Why? I COULD FINALLY HAVE PET MINCCINO OR A PET EMOLGA! <3No, I'm saying if any pokemon were real, the human race would be easily overthrown. Not just giant or overrated pokemon. I never even mentioned them specifically. 1) Yep I wish they were real, I would probably have a pet latios by now -
2) it would be cool if you could turn into Pokemon at will, yep, I dont see anything wrong with it. - Some unsuspecting trainer could come over with a Poke Ball in hand and commander his or her Pokemon to beat you so the trainer can catch you. Yeah, no downsides. Only being forced to leave your loved ones because somebody caught you. :/
3) So what you mean is that you don't want any giant or overrated pokemon?

You'd just rattle the Poke Ball and pop right out.

1. Hoopa CONFINED. The Prison Bottle would be hidden down beneath the Earth in some random cave, where nobody would find it.
2. Jirachi. He's my absolute favorite and could grant wishes. Plus, if scientists can make him, HE could turn people into Pokemon if it was their wish. Although they'd need to be specific or otherwise they'd end up as a Pikachu in their bedroom, their family worried, and their family not knowing what a video game character was doing in a bedroom.

I think so. But has anybody noticed both movies are exactly the same just with different legendaries?

Real-Life Pokemon?
I think real life Pokemon already exist to an extent.
Pokemon are mostly animals, right?
So technically, most animals could be Pokemon in one way or another.
Their moves could be their self-defense or attacking mechanisms. For instance, sharks bite, birds swoop in on their prey (which could be closely tied with many Pokemon attacks), and many Pokemon and real life animals practice camouflage.
But the thing is, those animals haven't taken over yet because they don't have the sophistication of human beings; simply put, they aren't smart enough. If we learned to communicate with them and made them stronger, that would give them an edge over us. We are, in essence, all brains and have little going for us in the way of physical ability. Sure, we have some adaptations, but we wouldn't survive very long if we were placed in the middle of the jungle with nothing.
If they were trained to become super powerful, what would stop, say, a complete overthrow of the human race?
If we were to become the test subjects, if we were to become pets, if we were to become servants?
And this could very realistically happen, if the animals were given enough time and training; I think there was a case in 2010 in which a killer whale at Seaworld bit a trainer's arm and dragged her underwater, and was drowned as a result of this whale's action.
If we were to train a mass of animals…it's hard to imagine the damage they could cause.

Real-Life Pokemon?
Science as of this moment probably wouldn't want to focus on changing people into Pokemon. They've probably got their hands full with finding cures to Ebola and Cancer, or finding a more reliable source of renewable energy.
That said, even if we could change into Pokemon, I don't think many people would do so because of the numerous risks involved with a massive transformation such as this.
From my understanding of biology, we'd have to totally change our molecular structure.
That's all well and good, but what if on the transformation back to our human selves, we lost a part of us? Not to mention that we'd have to change our organs and systems entirely; in some cases, the systems of the body would have to change in simple ways (for instance, the integumentary system would simply have to change color and structure). Some organs would have to change more drastically (for instance, the brain would have to be totally rewired. After all, most people wouldn't attack another animal if someone told them to.), and we may even need extra organs (for instance, we'd need organs that mass-produce electricity if we wanted to become a Pikachu.) We would have to change size entirely as well.
There are so many risks involved with this procedure:
What if, upon transformation, something didn't go right? If we lost pieces of or damaged our brain, or something else?
Or what if we couldn't change back, or if we lost a part of us when we resumed human form?
But I guess the true daredevil and Pokemon addict would give that a shot anyway.

If scientists had proof first that it would work, such as turning earthworms to Wurmples (Caterpie is actually based off of an actual caterpillar, by the way: http://i.imgur.com/4NZFsXg.jpg), they could move to bigger things, such as rats into Rattata (I think that's how you spell it.), then eventually along the line they'd move up to humans, having gained experience to know what to do.

(I didn't look at the picture; I actually have a fear of caterpillars. But I assume the similarity is striking.)
I'm sure they could move to bigger things in time, but that all seems super futuristic. How long would that take, even?

I'm guessing possibly 4 decades. Man, I'll be EXACTLY fifty then (I'm 10.) and I won't care about Pokemon at all, unless I, like, strive to remember it. Chances are the scientists don't care about Pokemon though, except one of my friends said that in Japan there was something called the PocketMonstersProject, where they were attempting to do just what this forum is about: To make real Pokemon and turn humans into Pokemon, but they apparently stopped doing it, one of the reasons for doing so was that nobody was wanting to risk their life. The other reason I have no idea, because animals don't necessarily “care” about anything but food. My theory is the animals began to have viruses which lead to death, and eventually they decided to stop so they wouldn't kill anything else.

Actually, I plan to make Robot Pokemon. You can find the forum called Poke-Bots. Then I plan to film a movie with them and… er… POSSIBLY send it to a company? I dunno. If I can't send it anywhere, I'll just post it on YouTube.

That legitimately sounds like something I'd be in to. Good luck in making the Poke-Bots!
