So, what do you guys think about Tynker?
Well, my brother actually seems to <3 tynker and has things that scratch doesn't. But it is almost like a complete copy of scratch. Also they ask for a load of money and scratch doesn't. (Plans)

Let me clear things up. I have known in real life the founder of Tynker for two years, and I did hate it when they started charging $50 to enter the website. I had a talk with him at an event a month ago and he said that it was actually a GLITCH! You were only supposed to pay $50 for the (completely optional) tutorials but for some reason when your trial for the tutorials ended it locked up the editor. From what he said the glitch is fixed now so if you create a NEW account, it will let you do anything in the editor.

Conclusion: Tynker is controversial
I tried a trial on Tynker once but I'm already loyal to Scratch. Plus I can't live without Open Source stuff. I'm planning to move from my legal licensed copy of Windows 7 to Ubuntu.

I couldn't find the credits to Scratch anywhere.
On Snap! however, it says so right in the first paragraph:
^^ the right way to give credits
On Snap! however, it says so right in the first paragraph:
It is an extended reimplementation of Scratch (a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab) that allows you to Build Your Own Blocks. It also features first class lists, first class procedures, and continuations. These added capabilities make it suitable for a serious introduction to computer science for high school or college students.Snap! (formerly BYOB) is a visual, drag-and-drop programming language.

The second post states that Tynker gave credit in About. I couldn't find the credits to Scratch anywhere.

However, I looked and could not find it.
Did they remove it?

Good luck with that. For some reason, Ubuntu didn't detect my Windows 8 installation. After installing, I messed up my installation by formatting Ubuntu's h om drive in Windows, because I was prompted to do so, as Windows didn't recognize the filesystem (EXT4) of my Ubuntu installation.dualbootdualbootdualboot Conclusion: Tynker is controversial

My computer is only a small laptop, firedrake
We used to use dual boot on the family computer, but after we updated our Ubuntu, the option to change to Windows disappears..

Tynker is the worst ripoff ever i have seen in my entire life!
THE REASONS WHY IT SUCKS ARE:
And alot of reasons why it sucks. Maybe ST should sue them because of making a really bad ripoff!
ALSO THE WORST THING IS THAT PARENTS PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE FREE!!! LEARNING SHOULD BE FREE!!! NOT $154.165.126.165 DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE REASONS WHY IT SUCKS ARE:
- It charges $50 dollars, 50 dollars???!?!?!?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS??!?!?!?!?
- It looks like an vector/modern version of an Scratch 1.4 editor.
- They make fake numbers, like 627416279276 people use it!!!

I find Tynker very limited I prefer scratch. Tynker also has less real coding. Also, I don't like that 1 hour session thing because I once forgot to sign out and I got on 34 hours later and it said “Your session is over” and it wouldn't let me get on for another 33 hours!

Scratch's community is way more helpful than any tutorial could ever be! Also, Alexa says tynker is declining in popularity… Looks like those parents are noticing scratch. Let me clear things up. I have known in real life the founder of Tynker for two years, and I did hate it when they started charging $50 to enter the website. I had a talk with him at an event a month ago and he said that it was actually a GLITCH! P.S. The reason why Tynker doesn't have a community is that it's designed for schools. (Hence the tutorials and “Teacher” functions.)

I believe Tynker was taken down by Wordpress. When I attempt to access the page, it leads me to a 404.
