Introduce Yourself Here!
I teach computer literacy to grades 5 thru 8 and am considering using Scratch. Kids get so restless learning MS office products and I really want to introduce programming. Whaddaya think?

I think that this is a good idea! However, this post does not belong here as this topic is made for new scratchers to introduce themselves. You could make a topic about it, though. I teach computer literacy to grades 5 thru 8 and am considering using Scratch. Kids get so restless learning MS office products and I really want to introduce programming. Whaddaya think?

Hi, I am new here and have made a cloud data game. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/12112034/ Can anyone see it and tell me if it is working? It's currently a draft, will make it a lot better in the future if it works

I would like to echo joshuaho on this. Teaching Scratch to your class would be a great idea! It both teaches the coding side of computers, as well as how things can be designed. It's also a fun experience for lots of people, so this should be a great addition to your class. I teach computer literacy to grades 5 thru 8 and am considering using Scratch. Kids get so restless learning MS office products and I really want to introduce programming. Whaddaya think?
Anyway, since you're new, hello okra64 and welcome to Scratch! I hope that you'll find everything great here!
With welcomes,
ErnieParke

Introduce Yourself Here!
Hi! This is my second account on Scratch, I've actually been on for a year, but I'd thought I'd say hello using my new account! I feel like only a few Scratchers are “famous” and get the love-its they deserve. So I created this account so other quality Scratchers can get the love-its there projects are worth. My motto is: Share the love!
If any new Scratchers have questions, I will be able to answer them

Hello:
I've tried on different computers (PC and Apple) in school and at home (and on my tablet) to open the “projects”that are listed in the lessons in Course 3 (Scratch Projecst a Comprehensive Course). The program that is discussed and demonstrated on the video presentation is seen (when the link to it is clicked) as programming language text. It doesn't connect to a Scratch Program to open it (or it won't open on the Internet either). What can I do??? My kids need to see the program run before and after I show the instructional video.
Thanks
Shirley

Hi, I'm TheMatrixKid. I'm a big fan of minecraft and Portal 2 and a scratch script kiddie since a few months ago. I got an account to show a couple of my ideas. My hobbies are playing guitar, telling jokes and building stuff with Jenga blocks. I hope to see a lot of people on Scratch as well!
