Realistically: Early next year. Hopefully earlier, but I expect that there will be bugs in the first versions that we will want to correct. Also, team members usually do not have much time from October to December. Since we do not yet have a beta version, I guess a first possible release it will be in March (in February there is more time to work on it). We are all volunteers…

Thanks. List and strings are ready, we are just getting rid of the last bugs, hopefully. In March there hopefully should be a big release with many new features.

It took a bit longer, but lists and strings are now in the Pocket Code release from June 2015 :-)

Cool! Installed this on my phone and I thought it was pretty cool!

One suggestion I have for you is to make a vector mode in pocket paint, it's almost impossible to get lines or shapes right at the moment, with vector mode you'd be able to edit after the fact. I'd also love to be able to zoom in.

Thanks! Regarding straight lines, vector mode is quite hard to implement (many changes in the code!) — we are considering it but have not started at all with that. But, have you tried the line tool? It allows to draw straight lines in all directions. Also useful might be the rectangle tool (you have to tap into the rectangle to apply the rectangle) — you can also turn your rectangles. The stamp and the flip tools are also quite useful, as well as the zoom and pan mode (press the tool at the top right to switch back-and-forth between the tool and pinch-to-zoom+pan modes). Additionally, when you set the pen width to 1 and zoom in a lot, you can correct individual pixels, without anti-aliasing effects — that should allow you to do arbitrarily precise images. The resizing tool now also allows to enlarge images.
