I would recommend having the option to view and hide non-shared projects for convenience.

Hi Eintity, I'm not sure what this means. Do you mean you want to be able to see where all the unshared projects are?

It took a lot of rewriting but your computer should be able to handle this much better now!

Well, @Lightnin confirmed it, and maybe she only used to be a ST member, and was changed back to “Scratcher” status.

P.S: Is my new siggy better? (You said my last one looked like part of my post).

Glad you like the new look!

Actually I did have it drawing stars for favorites, but the team decided it looked too distracting, and just hearts would be a good enough popularity indicator. Maybe if you can suggest a good reason for keeping favorites in, I can ask again

What if even if the project was a remix, it would appear as the first project on the tree, and the project it was based on and all projects below would appear as “roots” sort of an upside-down tree under the tree.
+1! That is a great idea!
+2!

This is a pretty cool idea! But one of the things we were trying to fix about the old remix trees was that when you moved around in it or viewed it from a different project, the look changed a lot and it was easy to get lost. If we have half the tree become roots, the actual root project could end up anywhere, parents would be under children sometimes and above children sometimes… it could get pretty confusing.

Lots of people on the Scratch team join for pretty brief periods of time… for instance I'll be leaving at the end of the summer D:
I guess they don't give everyone admin access so they won't lose track.

Why not put projects on a leaf? That might make it look like a tree!

To be able to hide and not hide unshared projects for conveniece. So you can only see shared projects.

That's odd, it should be hiding all unshared projects by default (except the ones it has to show because they have shared children.) Are you seeing lots of gray `Not Available' boxes at the ends of trees? Is it all trees or only certain ones?

I don't always see them. This would be simply for convenience. The feature would allow to show and not show unshared projects, so you can see them as you wish, just to see how vast the tree is.

I've noticed that on mobile devices the remix trees can tend to lag quite a bit. I understand that they aren't as powerful devices, but just saying so. Maybe the remix trees can detect if a user is on mobile, and if so create a more compressed, lower-resolution image representing each project? Notice when you zoom in he image displaying a project adjusts to the zoom and displays higher quality. It might help to create more compressed thumbnails. I understand it is normally .jpeg, but maybe make the resolution 240x180?

Also, for mobile viewing, maybe larger zoom buttons? Also, you know how it shows hearts for love-it's? Why not stars for favorites?

They had it once, but she took it down after discussing with the rest of the Scratch Team. They said it was too distracting, and hearts were enough to show it's popularity.

To add to that: no fancy background on mobile, pinch-to-zoom, bigger buttons with blurrier thumbnails, larger font, etc

When was the decision made to change the remix icon design to a tree?
I understand the tree better symbolises the branching nature of the remix visualisation, but it's not a very good indication of what it is to the first-time user. Wasn't the spiral better in this case?
