Blurry Sprite Glitch
Hey there, I need some help solving this weird thing that started to happen to my sprite.
When I shrank the sprite, the pixels became blurry for some reason.
And so, I decided to run several tests with this blurry sprite.
1. I tried shrinking the sprite with the shrink button, but once I clicked the shrink button and clicked on the blurry sprite, nothing happened.
2. I also tried shrinking the sprite in the editor with the following script:
3. Perhaps this wasn't a glitch, so I cleared the graphic effects with
4. I tried moving the sprite, and it seemed that for some reason, whenever my mouse was holding on to the sprite, the sprite cleared and wasn't blurry anymore. However, when my mouse let go of the sprite, it became blurry again. wut
If you have any suggestions on what to do that would be nice. Thanks!
Thanks!

was this in the scratch movie? or just a small project because if it was just a small project you could just start over (yeah i don't know what to do )

That's because the pixels have to be rearranged interpolated in order to prevent the sprite from looking much worse. I'm assuming the sprite wasn't designs to be shrank that small so it ends up looking blurry unless the resize is either a complete 100% upscale or downscale.

Sometimes having graphic effects blocks in a project, even if they are not used, can cause blurriness.
Could you share the project this is happening on?

UPDATE:
The blurry sprite(s) have stopped being blurry! *throws confetti at you* For some reason, after I've reloaded the page for maybe the tenth time on the fifth day of working on this project, the sprites miraculously became clear again.
Thanks for your help everyone, responses are below anyway lol.
@Modifier9 : Nah, it was in a project I was working on for maybe a week with more than 60 scripts and 40 sprites.
@Superandultra : Actually, the sprite is in Vector, and Vector is designed so that the graphics will always be clear, no matter the size. Additionally, the sprite I made was very large in the costume editor but on the viewing screen, it was shrunk so it should've been clearer than it was when it was bigger - but its not.
@TimothyLawyer : I did not use any graphic effects in my project, and by the way I am still working on the project and I'm still not very sure whether I will share it or not (for the fear of art theft).

Oh, ok then. I guess I just jumped to pull the trigger because I see people complaining about that problem with bitmap.

Try making several costumes and making them smaller and smaller using vector mode. The script-
when green flag clicked
switch costume to
repeat (1 less the costumes in all)
next costume
wait (whatever works the best for you)secs

That's real hard! I know! Get the scripts are drag them into another sprite! Then delete the sprite and make a new one that looks the same! Drag the scripts back in and presto!, I hope that helps!

Scratch 1.4 doesn't have this weird glitch, however, Scratch 2.0 does.

Because 2.0 has a different rendering technique than 1.4, basically, it makes the graphics in the processor, instead of in the graphics card, its makes it a lot easier and less laggy, but it also causes more problems. Scratch 1.4 doesn't have this weird glitch, however, Scratch 2.0 does.
You can between rendering by pressing CMMD + M on a mac, and ? on windows. However, whenever you use an effect block, it will always revert back to the 2.0 rendering.
hope this helps!
