Profile Picture Detector
This is another one of my ideas (more developed this time) about a sensor that could detect profile pictures for costume blocks.
If you were making a project, you could create a sprite to resemble the player's profile picture or make a clone hover above a sprite indicating the player like in car racing games. The possibilities are endless, though there are a bit of work-arounds to overcome before this could become possible. Once that complete, these sensors can merge with other ideas and scripts exhibiting a new level of creative and unique functions.
switch costume to [profile picture v]
switch backdrop to [profile picture v]

set [profile pictures of... v] to (pen code :: list)Does this seem like an underdeveloped, far-fetched idea or an invasion of privacy? Feel free to say so, as long as it doesn't become too much of an argument.

Thanks guys!
Any improvements or pointers you'd like to share about this idea?
If not, help expand on it as mentioned above:

Support, because you could make intros easily

I think it's a good idea but it's underdeveloped. Would every sprite have this? What size (dimensions) would the picture be - would it be square (like it shows in the site) or would it be the actual size (like it's uploaded)? Other than these questions, I support!

That's a good point, ChocolatePi. I hope the q/a below will help:

q: “…Would every sprite have this?…” -ChocolatePi
a: Since sprites are made to do the same functions, yes. The stage, no. -Interkey
q: “…What size (dimensions) would the picture be…would it be the actual size (like it's uploaded)?” -ChocolatePi
a: This is a tricky one. As mentioned before, sprites can do the same functions, and the profile picture is meant to be a costume, it would be the actual size uploaded. Like normal costumes, it would be able to change or set size with the size blocks. -Interkey

Before this post, I gave support, and while I still do, you have to have a picture on your computer to make it your profile picture, *unless you deleted it so you can just upload your picture. Also, I realized that it would be impossible to do because Scratch can't find your profile picture because unlike usernames, profile pictures can't be sensed (I think), so it would be impossible.

I have a feeling that everyone is confused about the fact that these pictures vary depending on who views the project.
If you were making a cool racing project, would it make sense for the picture hovering above the car to just be the creator's profile picture? This isn't meant to be the kind of forum that has blocks that simplify functions you can already do in scratch. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. The suggestion forum is full of these kinds of ‘impossible’ ideas.

Bump.
This is where I first posted it, but I had thought of it a while back.
These could either be in sensing or as an extension.
I had this same idea:And there would also be blocks to move and resize it to make it actually useful.show user's profile picture :: sensing
hide user's profile picture :: sensing

Sorry, no support. Scratch has not added a block yet that gets images, probs because that takes away the coding aspect.

What would stuff like “costume #” return, and what would happen if you opened the costume editor? No support, this is too much of a design contradiction.
