It could be possible to work on separate projects, just not the same one.
There should be a Studio edition of Scratch, possibly designed by a third-party (instead of the ST), so it would be like a Scratch mod, only designed for multiple people to work on the project at the same time.

It isn't possible to work on a project with someone else, unless you are both on one account with the project. The problem with that is, only one person can be on an account at a time. Say you were working on the project, and someone else was too, on the same account. If you saved, it wouldn't update on the other side unless they refresh the page. You wouldn't know what the other person did, and if you were both working on the same script, that could have unforseen results.

You could try by sharing an account, but it doesn't work that well.
