I have around 100 hours each in both 3/NV, currently starting a playthrough on what I hope will be a chaotic evil character: minimum intelligence/perception, max strength/endurance. I'm struggling a bit with the roleplaying aspect though; I've always had a hard time with that. My last character I inadvertently ended up playing the nice guy even though I meant to act as more of a mercenary - I can't even be mean to NPC's.
I also intend to buy Fallout 2 in the Steam sale, just waiting to see if it gets discounted any more before picking it up.

i know this is a really really old thread,
but this has to be said
bethesda appears to be teasing fallout 4
on their twitter they're posting “#PleaseStandBy” posts with links to a page that has the fallout “please stand by screen” with a countdown

My brother has been playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas recently, and I watch sometimes. When we get a PS4 we're gonna get Fallout 4.

Is this really a scratch-appropriate game? I hear it has guns. I am going to make a FALLOUT choose your own adventure :3

A lot of FNAF projects don't have jumpscares. If it was inappropriate, it would likely be reported. Is this really a scratch-appropriate game? I hear it has guns. I am going to make a FALLOUT choose your own adventure :3

The presence of guns is not what makes it inappropriate for the Scratch audience. With the possible exception of the rubbish PS2 title (I've yet to play it and as such don't know) they're all rather gory. The writing covers “mature” themes (to use the classification system the US uses). Is this really a scratch-appropriate game? I hear it has guns. Essentially most of the people here are too young to be playing the Fallout series

It doesn't take a majority of the users to have a discussion though, and as long as no one talks about the inappropriate elements themselves it's okay for discussion here. The presence of guns is not what makes it inappropriate for the Scratch audience. I love the series. New Vegas' setting and characters were incredibly well-written and it's a fun game, with lots of re-play value with different factions, endings, playstyles, and even gender makes the game different. Fallout 3 was fun too but I didn't like the setting and the writing wasn't very immersive. It started off strong but it fell off :\ I spent a lot of my childhood living in DC so I thought the setting alone would make me love it, but meh. Wasn't a fan of the creatures in FO3 as much either.

I wish they'd kept Fallout 3's narrative closer to the 2077 war. The setting seemed a bit daft based on the premise of it being 200-something years after the nukes.
Fallout 2 is still my favourite. A dark but humorous narrative and true RPG mechanics. Wonderful stuff.

Why did you bold your text?
I played Oblivion and killed myself by jumping of a bridge like 7 different times. It was fun.

I'm really not a fan of the older isometric/antiquated Fallout games. I'm old so they're not novelties to me, just reminders of how ugly and tedious gaming used to have no choice but to be
