Didn't you (or someone else in the Scratch Team) once consider an HTML5 player later this year?

This project is good example, it used to be laggy but now … WHOOOSH!!
EDIT: I am using a 2.50 GHz processor with 4 GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics. Long story short, flash crashes.

Chrome uses it's own “Pepper Flash” player. For some reason it only lags for me in Google Chrome, while Internet Explorer is running perfectly.

But maybe i have still the older version
To disable it and use Adobe Flash:
- Go to chrome://plugins/
- Click “Details”
- Scroll down and find where it says “Adobe Flash Player (2 files)”
- One of the two items under that will say something about “PepperFlash”
- Click “Disable” under the Pepper Flash player.

Production on my greatest project yet(mentioned in my signature) has ground to a halt due to the massive amounts of ghosting and brightness effects. The thumbnail takes a whole minute to fade away. Please, please fix this glitch!

Wow, the first post thing. Do you guys just keep a first post in your copy paste buffer at all times, so all you have to do is ctrl C and submit?
We have to figure out how to redirect that first-post energy for leaving constructive comments on projects by beginning Scratchers.. Anyhow, I'm not helping the off topicness situation much here.![]()
Everyone! Repeat after me:
stay on topic… stay on topic……stay on topic….
XD
Good point, plz. only post if you have something relevant to post.

About the Flash glitch that's affecting the graphics blocks, currently two different possible solutions are being worked on–hopefully there will be a fix before too long–not this week yet though!

Some projects laggy due to pesky change in Adobe Flashplayer
Lots of you have noticed that after upgrading to the most recent version of Flash on your computer (11.8), suddenly the Scratch player gets very laggy when playing some projects. The reason has to do with something called “Pixelbender” - it's code that applications written in Flash can use to speed up graphic effects. Adobe removed support for the bits of Pixelbender that allowed it to run fast in the most recent version of their Flash player. As a result, projects that use graphic effects are quite a bit slower.
Not surprisingly, lots of people are upset by this change - as it breaks or slows down many pieces of software that were written in Flash (not just Scratch.) If you are curious, you can read more about that here: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3591185
We're working on a different solution that should speed things up again - but it will take some time. Fixing this is now our 2nd highest priority (the first is getting the alpha version of the offline editor out the door so Scratchers can test it out, and give feedback!)
Scratch On!
Lightnin, on behalf of Scratch Team
also it only really happens on chrome the slowdown it doesn't slow down on internet explorer
this is because of chromes pepper flash player it slows it down EVEN MORE!
once my game on a site was lagging so much on chrome i disabled pepper flash and it worked fine
the game lags less in chrome with pepper flash on today its improved
turning off pepper made scratch a bit faster
