This would be a good idea, however I feel as though there should be a better way to link. Instead, when you request for a link, you need to type the password of the account you're trying to link to. Then, the notification would be sent. After that, you would need to go to the alternate account, then accept the link. To accept, though, you need to type the password of the main account.
This would basically require you to know the password to both of the accounts, thus pretty much confirming that you are the owner of both accounts. Without this, you could accidentally link your account to someone else just by accepting the invitation on accident.
EDIT: This is not a necropost, a duplicate topic link led me here, and it's the exact same suggestion. This hasn't been added yet, so it's still a viable post.

Benefit 1: Support! This would be great since we all would like to move projects without having to switch accounts.

Benefit 2: Semi-Support This would be good, if you had the option, and that the messages were separated into different sections.

Benefit 3: No Support I don't see how this could be useful.

Overall: Semi-Support Mostly a good idea!

I totally support number three, as I own a shop and it is REALLY annoying that I am the only one who can edit the post.
