A "last active" display 30 supporters!
I'll edit the description nowNo support. There used to be one at the bottom of the forums, but it took up a load of computational resources so it was removed. That's not what this suggestion is about.
Support if it is optional.

I am entitled to state my opinion on all suggestions in the suggestions forum; everyone is. The suggestions forum would be a complete waste of time if people can't accept criticism and other ideas. No support. There used to be one at the bottom of the forums, but it took up a load of computational resources so it was removed.if you don't like it then please just don't say anything
Yes, it may look and act different on the outside, but would fundamentally use the same backend/infrastructure as the old system. It would constantly require Scratch to check if the said user is trying to access Scratch, log it into a database of a million other Scratchers, and then spit it out to a user who requests it. This hundreds of times a minute. Scratch is already quite slow for me, and having to wait for the server to fetch this data from some database would prolong this wait. It's just too much for a small feature like this.No support. Anyhow, Scratch is not a social network. Having a ‘online status light’ would encourage people to use profiles as chat rooms, making moderation harder and defeating the point Scratch; programming.

Would it have to constantly check? Couldn't it just update that user's “last activity” entry when the user does something, and store the last activity with the profile? If it was made optional, it wouldn't even have to update your last activity if you turned it off.I am entitled to state my opinion on all suggestions in the suggestions forum; everyone is. No, when the user logs on, the activity changes to active, and when the user logs off, the it changes to inactive.Would it have to constantly check? Basically, somewhere around the activity feed it would say when they were last logged on to Scratch, but it would not be able to give any more accurate measurement than “today” so, a Scratcher would not be able to tell if they were online, but if they are active or not.More details please. What's is? semi-support, i want more detailsWhat exactly do you want to know?

Uh… isn't this basically the What Ive been Doing thing? That already shows the last time they were active?…No, that shows when they last remixed/loved/favourited something. It shows that they are interacting with others, but not whether they have been making projects recently.

I don't support as Scratch is not a social network, and that I don't see the point of such a feature when you can just use your comments section to say “I'm online” or something along the lines of that.

Secondly no-one comments “I'm online” everytime they go on Scratch, thirdly, who would check if they commented that?

Sorry if it wasn't clear on the topic description, what I meant was that it would not be more specific than “today” or “this week”, something like that.“Oh look this user is online now, I can communicate with them now.”I don't support as Scratch is not a social network, and that I don't see the point of such a feature when you can just use your comments section to say “I'm online” or something along the lines of that.First of all how would this make Scratch into a social network?thirdly, who would check if they commented that?Dedicated followers.
