THIS NEEDS TO BE IN SCRATCH.MIT.EDU [competition bar]
That's like saying we should add a platformer bar because we sometimes come across platformers we don't like.Guys, shouldn't this have been resolved a long time ago?Did anyone read my post?If the only point of the competition bar is to find competitions, why not just follow the above suggestions? Why don't you just click the Explore button and then type “contest” in the tag section? (Or “cc” because most contests on Scratch are coloring contests anyway).
Or you can find studios that contain contests like
https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/212459/
https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/409854/
(If you're looking for stuff like the Color Wars, though, I have no idea - I guess you could search them.)
I do that… BUT I always come across remixes and comps I do not like. We could add what the community is loving ‘thing’ in it
And what the community likes isn't necessarily what you like.

Exactly. If we're gonna add a comps bar, why not add a platformers bar? And an bar for operating systems? And a bar for 3D programs? And a bar for EVERY. OTHER. TYPE. OF. PROJECT. IN. SCRATCH. Why not, huh?*That's like saying we should add a platformer bar because we sometimes come across platformers we don't like.Guys, shouldn't this have been resolved a long time ago?Did anyone read my post?If the only point of the competition bar is to find competitions, why not just follow the above suggestions? Why don't you just click the Explore button and then type “contest” in the tag section? *This was sarcastic. I actually do not support this idea. It would overcrowd the bar at the top.

Because platformers and 3D games are all projects , and competitions are a type of separate thing that are usually hard to find. Competitions aren't projects, they're a type of fundamentally different thing.Exactly. If we're gonna add a comps bar, why not add a platformers bar? And an bar for operating systems? Going with the “that's like saying” trend, “what you're saying is like saying we should remove the featured studio section, because they can just blend with projects.”

If there was a competitions area, I think a forum rather than a bar would be better - competitions can be presented as a studio or a project, and I don't think a bar would be able to show both. Also, there would have to be a way for the system to identify competitions and add them to the bar (although I suppose the ST could do this manually). With a forum, people would just have to post a link to the project/studio about the competition.Because platformers and 3D games are all projects , and competitions are a type of separate thing that are usually hard to find. Yes, but they are usually put in a series of projects and sometimes studios. If you find an entry for a contest, you can link it back to the original rules project (unless the person didn't follow the rules for larger contests). The only hard part is to find a good contest that's not closed, and you can do that by using my tips.Because platformers and 3D games are all projects , and competitions are a type of separate thing that are usually hard to find. And projects and studios are two completely different things here, so your idea would not work.
As to the forum idea, a lot of people would not know how to close their topics and there would still be a challenge in finding open ones if the old ones are necroposted (which would probably be the case for a lot of them).
