I suggest that BBCode is used in all of Scratch!!.
Comment, About me and the What I'm working on, you name it!.
Why should we put the feature? Because without BBCode, it always gets messy. Instead of this messy comment:

Hey can you add this project?
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/123456

It will be like this:

Can you add this project?

See the difference?

Super_Scratch_Bros20

It's only going to cause more lag in comments if you can do some of the options, such as making lists or posting images.

Hey there! It looks like your topic is a duplicate, Like they say, great minds think alike! To keep the forums clean, please continue the discussion there. Thanks

Ihatr

There's a pretty clear difference between a forum post and a comment, and there are good reasons why forum posts should have BBCode and not comments.

Forum posts usually contain more text then comments, and nobody wants to read a big block of text (hence the need to format it to be at least readable). Comments can only contain up to 500 characters, which most people can read through. It'll also make comment moderation much harder, cause more page lag as the parser formats it, and just be an option that won't be good for the community.

Well, scratch has been around for 13 years. If lets say 5 original topics are created every week, that would be over 3000 original suggestions. So, a lot of topics are duplicates.

Oh so you say that there is about 96% that a post is a duplicate?

It isn't about odds, but I would say around 70% of suggestions are duplicates, and 10% are topics that belong somewhere else.

A moderator will close it. (The button doesn't appear until the topic is old enough.)

Think about it this way. If your suggestion is a duplicate, someone else has thought it up before, meaning at least one person likes your suggestion. Being a duplicate means at least one person liked your suggestion so much before you that they made a topic about it.
