Woah!
Most likely, it's a whacky CSS issue, where someone moved the background-image property of a closed topic to the actual background.![](http://alpha.scratch.mit.edu/scratchr2/static/djangobb_forum/img/smilies/hmm.png)

scmb1O.o really? It just looks messed up on Firefox for me (I don't see the x's in Chrome). I wonder why.

Do you have the version you are using? I'll need to update the ticket if the bug is also a Chrome issue.

Weird, instead of X's I'm seeing the words “Mark It Up” in the quick post box. I'm using Firefox 16 on Win. 7.

Ah, sorry Cheddar - should've mentioned it! I think that was introduced when Shane made some changes to the admin panel. It's putting the x's everywhere, but it's harmless so fixing it is kinda low priority.
But nobody but us admins get to see the glorious xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wall-paper. I updated the ticket to reflect this info.
