I am sorry vikaros but you have to admit my project called "A Good Dream" was funny. The language just spiced things up a bit. Seriously it's hilarious.
It turned out that the problem was simple - broadcasts like '1' and '23' were being used, and while the Scratch app. recognizes broadcasts that have numeric names, the Java applet player here on the site didn't

VERSION 2 (DELETED 2ND SPRITE & TURNED OFF BACKGROUND COSTUME CHANGES)
VERSION 3 (DELETED EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE SPRITE USING PEN UP AND DOWN)
VERSION 4 (TEST OF PEN UP AND DOWN)
VERSION 5 (PEN UP & DOWN - NO BROADCASTS)

i always do word broadcasts so i can recognize where i went wrong and so it stays organized
