In the unlikely event someone is actually reading this and notices the ball appears to go through the paddle, that is not a glitch. That is the ball moving so fast that it "misses" your paddle, which is basically how scoring on the computer works.
You might want to rename this as Table Tennis or Pong with Gravity. There are so many simple Pong programs that most people see Pong and just turn off immediately.
"Wow, this is real ping pong, with a table and everything! Nice. I had a little trouble with it though, the AI took a shot that missed the table completly and the game was unable to recover (ball vanished). Even the Green Flag was unable to fix."
Have you tried pressing space? I never had that happen to me before, so idk.
Got an answer on Kwik Kubic from ffred...he says all of them are solvable from any position. He used to know all the tricks to solving them but has forgotten them. He recommended us to Ninjasquirrel who has been playing his version of the game and claims to have it all figured out.

Download "Ping Pong"(3 sprites and 11 scripts) and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
BEATABLE AI! Yes, the AI is beatable. At least in the sense that you can score on him, it's still very hard. I played til he got 21 and I only got 12. Click the green flag to start and press "space" to serve. Click and hold the mouse in order to rotate your paddle in a directio facing the cursor or use "z" and "x". Right now the game is still set for endless play. Have fun!
