I used a raytracing programcalled POV Ray to build the ship. Then I created 32 images of the ship in POV ray at different angles. When you use the arrow keys, it just switches costumes.
Wow, how did this one get by me? Very impressive! That is an excellent 3D model, I love the lighting highlights. It makes me want to take another run at Blender...except I don't really have the patience! This is really nice, looking forward to the full game.
I made the ship in POV ray. It's a free 3D ray tracing program available online. It was kinda hard to learn, but once you do, you can really make some cool 3D objects.
Whoa! That's amazing and very impressive! The way you make the starship rotate in 3d and let the stars move accordingly really blew me away. I just downloaded it and looked at the scripts: Cool! There's something to be learned here, an instant favorite!
wow, my little project made it into someones dreams :) Your dream is pretty close to the way the game is being built. I plan on everything being as 3D as is possible in Scratch. I already have one enemy done, and am working on the second one. It takes a few days to build each enemy (I am using POV ray). I hadn't thought about having the missles able to shoot each other. I might try to make that work. I am patterning the game after an old DOS game I used to play called Space Pilot. You can still find it on the web somewhere.
Last Night, I Dreamed The Future Of Guardian2 (Really!) The Space Craft Had 3-D Missles And Were Fired By The Space Key, Also There Were 3-D Enemies That Were Placed At Random In Space And When The Spacecraft Rotated, After A Few Seconds Enemies May Or May Not Show Up, Also When The Enemies Did Show Up The Enemies Would Fire 3-D Missles In Intervals Of 2-6 Seconds, Also If Your Missle Was Touching Theirs, Both Would Disappear! If You Where Touching An Enemy Missle You Would Die, Also If An Enemy Was Touching Your Missle The Enemy Would Die! You Had To Kill 25 Enemies To Win.
Download "Guardian2"(15 sprites and 30 scripts) and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
I decided to try and make the sequel to Guardian a 3D game. Scratch isn't really setup to do 3D graphics, but using a little trickery, you can make a game look close to 3D. This is just the first phase of the game. Just seeing if i can get the ship to rotate fast enough, and make the stars look like they have depth to them. let me know your comments, and if you like it, don't forget to click Love It! I am going to work on the enemies and the firing system. Thanks to Jens for his project "Big". I used his idea to make the stars scroll. Thanks to dingdong for the "3D Tank!!!" project which gave me the idea to go 3D with Guardian 2.

Very nicely done! It's very smooth. I'll be curious to see how your shooting and AI work. It looks like it'll be a fantastic game.
