The 3d landscape I used for the background/stage was something i had on my computer from a long time ago. I found it on the web somewhere. I think it was generated in POV RAY. I used the scratch editor to take out the "sky" area and did my own flood fill.

also, how exactly did you make your 3D landspace? (Terragen?) It looks like you just took a heightmap and added a texture to it, but I might be wrong.

The shield bar is just a sprite that i move to the left every time the shield is hit. The parts i don't want seen are hidden by the gray panel on top.
