DX and DY, X:=X+DX; Y:=Y+DY. done! now, to give a little acceleration, IF keypressed'vk_left' && DX > -20 (dx:=Dx-5); same goes for right, just remove the -'s, and for DY, for example a jump, though do remember, create a variable for instance "bFlying" then (if you're lazy enough, you can use if touching color ;)) sets the variable to 0, and with each deltastep while in mid-air (bFlying=1) the DY should become DY-1. and with the jumpkey the DY should go somewhere high, and bFlying := 1. (Eww, I hope you can understand this =/ )
Ah, I found where you went wrong, the 'z' key and the 'x' key work on the same loop, both the 'z' and the 'x' have a delay function in it, so if you tap them both, you have 2 delays running, and you can hop again. - My solution, seperate the 'X'Key and the 'Z'Key Loop, OR use DX and DY =) little more complicated, but simplifies things (Ask me about it if you don't know what it is) :) ... One final word of advice, 'touching color' function isn't allways good, on the contrary, it makes things more sluggish and instable, if you create a game, you also gotta think about preformance, like the game of mine (Erythematosus), since I used a background song, things started lagging a lot more, will post a new version of it soon :).
