I dowloaded your version with clone and delete and it worked great but the java applet does not run. I saw that this was said by fullmoon in the forum so that clone and delete are really like duplicate and delete in regular scratch of course we have a dynamic version but no run time to use them in. Am I right or am I missing something?
You are right. Jens (the great SmallTalk wizard) said a few days ago that he was planning to create a general Scratch applet that would allow all projects created with modified versions of Scratch to run. I'm feverishly waiting for this!
I also hope they add Lists and Files, as well as dynamic sprite duplication. I mean, all the work has been done already. It is not like they have to figure it out for themselves lol! I tried to download that hacked Scratch link in the notes, but for some reason it came rarred, and my unrar program is unusually slow, so I just deleted the file.
Yes I did and the Lists and Files one is really complete. I hope they are adding lists to Scratch. That would simplify a lot my projects. I would also love to have the possibility to clone sprites.
I know that, but i don't just mean an add-on. I mean to say that I wish Jens' lists were actually a part of scratch, so I could make and share and save projects which use them. I have Jens' version already, but I wish it were standard....
Today I was updating the Italian translation of the Scratch interface (using Pootle) and I discovered several new strings:
delete item %i of %L
insert %s at %i of %L
item %i of %L
length %L
set item %i of %L to %s
list
What do you think? Will lists be in the new realease (due by this summer)?
This project can only by run using the "clone" hack by ChrisCrouch (link to forums) You can download a complete hacked Scratch with the "clone/delete this sprite" blocks at http://www.sitibs.com/files/stefano/Scratch1.2.1plusClone.zip

(view all replies)Just run "scratch.exe" from inside the unpacked file you downloaded. You will find the new blocks in the "Control" category
Um, I re-downloaded the hacked version, but what do I open? The plain "Scratch" or what?

Have you tried Jens' lists yet?

(view all replies)*sigh* I wish Scratch actually had arrays built in. Even if they were only one-dimensional, it would be better than none....
Well, Scratch has Lists... and Files! At least Jens' wonderful addition that you can download from http://www.chirp.scratchr.org/blog/. Enjoy!
