I have a whole new set of tutorials and videos at http://scratch.redware.com if you want to use them to help you create a lesson plan for teaching scratch at a school or computer club - or to help you learn more if you need to. Please take a look and register if you like it.
This is a great game and we are using it to teach 3rd- and 4th-graders how to program in Scratch. However, I notice that when you duplicate the yellowfish sprites, the shark only opens his mouth when it touches the original yellowfish. Since each yellowfish is its own sprite, you can only specify one sprite to make the shark change costume to the open-mouth. Is there any way to tell the shark to change to the open-mouth costume when it touches ANY yellowfish sprite?
Thanks for a fun program!
Thanks for sharing your notes. I will use this for training teachers. I changed the documents with sentences with Active voice to make it simpler. Great document.
Download the 6 sprites and 7 scripts of "fish" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Use your mouse to move the shark around to eat the yellow fish. You get indigestion if you eat a red fish !
This is a simple project which can be used for training purposes in a computer club. Full notes to help you build and understand this game are available at http://scratch.redware.com. Look for the fish project notes.
http://www.friv.com contains many simple flash games which are a good inspiration for projects suitable for scratch.

Great covering the basics.
I like the game a lot. The programming is straight forward. I'll try it with my Year 6 class and see how they get on. Many thanks.
