The Scratch Team has chosen to disable commenting on this project because the discussion has become disrespectful.
While we understand that many Scratchers have felt offended by this project, we ask that everyone keep in mind that it is expressing an opinion. Scratch will always be for many different kinds of projects - animations, art, games, projects of all sorts. This includes projects with cats, warriors, and art contests...
At the same time, Scratchers have a right to express their feelings about the front page, as long as they do so respectfully. The project above is not the friendliest way of doing so, but it also isn't an attack on an individual Scratcher. Many of the projects created in response to this one are. It is ok to disagree, but it is important to do so respectfully, and in a way that challenges ideas rather than people.
I'm so tired of all this. CAN WE PLEASE STOP FIGHTING!!! Look at this! Friends are fighting against eachother, and scratch has gone BBLLOOOOOOSH!!!!! Seriously??? Why can't we all stop. If someone give me five good reasons why there should or should not be more cats and contest, then I will stop. But I mean GOOD reasons, not eachother is jealous or anything. PLEASE JUST EVERYONE STOP.
While it is ok to disagree with the point of view expressed in this project, it's important to do so respectfully. Please be careful with your words. Commenting aggressively only makes the conflict worse.

some people are complaining about cussing on youtube. well, if you don't like the cussing, don't look at the comments! But I'm starting to agree: scratchers should be able to make what they want. and anyway, the lack of games right now is becuase of simulations and other non-cat related stuff that no body cares about. where are people like m44 when you need them?

I would like to see some games and movies back, as opposed to short repeating animations and drawings, but abolishing the anthros us out of the question. You could try, but people like masked would probably give you a live grenade if you did.

Pardon me but do you think they ask to get on the front page? They don't. Its all a matter of what we Scratchers consider to be the best. Obviously, the majority of Scratchers must disagree with you and therefore look at those projects. I must inform you that games are on there as well.

It would be wise to restate these opinions in a more respectful way. This could make this discussion less angry and more constructive. You could make a new project and link to it from the project notes.
Exactly what I think. I said something like this below. I don't mean to spam, but I would like to recommend a gallery, "Pause" I made it. Its about scratchers who want to stop argument on scratch. Would you mind checking it out if you can?

(view all replies)Now some of us reacted violently to this project. Cursing, behaving rudely, and all around bad stuff. This is not the way to go a bout things. It fuels one side, which then fuels the other in an endless cycle. And, in the end, this whole thing has caused utter catastrophe where I have, myself, said rude things because of a bad communication. Now things are being uttered of a scratch civil war. I fear that it may be too late.
They too wanted to utterly end cats, Anthro's and more. But I sense this is not the reaction you wanted. I think you just wanted the front page to be EQUALLY shared between the two. But sadly that's not how it reads. While sifting through comments people have said that things and you have responded saying "You have nothing against cats, or art." Along with many other things that happen to help prove my point.
You wrote that sentence as though you wanted to stop cats, Anthro's and art contests and whatever else, utterly and completely. People reacted to this in many different. Most people who are fans of this stuff were angry, they felt they had a right to express their art, which they do. They felt that you were against art, hence expression of thought. Others read this and read it the same way but agreed.

Qwert I think I understand what is going on now. This project could have been done... better. You worded it rudely. It sounds like everyone who likes or makes warriors, or cats or art contests is a horrible person who destroys scratch. You wrote almost like you wanted to pass a new law or something. "THIS IS THE LAST CAT YOU'LL EVER SEE!" IS quoted from this project, and is a fine way of explaining my thinking. (Read in next comment.)

I don't agree with all of it, but I do agree that there isn't much more than cats, but there are other stuff aswell, and it would be nice to see more than just animals.
