oh... come on, nobody's first projects were that good!! u shud see mine...... but as you are on longer, you get better!!! just delete the comment and move on. take it from me, i had some REALLY bad comments!!! someone said that i was "butt-ugly" but i just deleted it and that made me feel better :) PS i like your first "creation"!!!

You should start making projects again, i mean not EVERYONE is horrid! There are like LOADS of nice people! The thing is, the horrid people are just jelous because lots of people have had more practice and upload more complicated and impressive projects. When I made my first project I was feeling really sad because everyone had better projects than me. But now I've had more practice I feel alot better. Come on, start again!!!
Look at all of these comments below me LOOK! Are any single one of them mean?? Just because of some stupid people being rude or mean your just going to stop?? If everyone did that there wouldn't be anyone left here on Scratch. So many people in the world are mean you've just got to ignore it. After all there are thousands of people using Scratch and you're just going to stop causing enjoyment and pleasure for eeryone by some immature people thinking their cool and being rude about your project. Everyone makes a first project I mean look at mine (link to project) all it is is a ghost that could move forward I just used the jumping jack that was all ready made!! They were just insensitive to you and I bet if you could see their first project you'd have laughed at how silly they were to start with. Look at people like Andresmh and MyRedNeptune and Ericr, yes they are brilliant noe but they started at the beginning with projects even simpler than this. Give people a chance

I think this should bring other projects that have been insulted to everyones attention, I'm going to look around and put nice comments on top of anybody's mean ones
most mean ppl leave after a while, a few months ago ppl were CUSSING on projects but they are gone now
those mean ppl are just jelious. if you want help then you can ask Jens, Mayhem, Unclecleives, Dragon_MC_, even me if you only have a small problem. just leave a comment on one of our projects and we'll help
you shouldnt let one comment put you down. keep on creating and sharing, dont be afraid of some comment by some weird nasty stupid person who leaves mean comments, their projects sometimes arent any better. just keep on scratching!!! and dont let others get in your way
Their are many people on this website that are nice, the mean comments that you see are mostly done by a few people, same with copying
Some people just have a mean way of being what they think is funny. You can also delete their comments.

Hey, don't worry. People like Hiyaman copied my Club Penguin project, but in the end they turned out to be alright. People who copy projects are JEALOUS. (Apart from Hiyaman, of course) nice people like Mohlar, Drangon MC, and everyone like that has their own NICE personal opinouin (soz about the spelling). Anyway, Scratch is a great community that helps Scratch users share their projects. Those people who copy other peoples's projects have no talent in Scratch. Just like Davidchen, (sometimes) also, he made 30 dummy acounts just to do certain things which aren't very nice. Just look out, and just flag people's copies inaproppriate. I hope I helped you!!

Some people might have been mean on scratch to you, but scratch is a large community! Everyday a person has an account made. They might treat you differently!

I only read the top comment, and it's true! Another example is me, Animax. And everyone out there who gives mean comments, you probably wouldn't like them either, so DON'T DO IT TO OTHERS!!!
sunnygirl1: we are working on adding a "flag as inappropriate" for each comment. For now you can flag as inappropriate the project and we will look at it as well as the comments. We also just added a feature that prevents people from posting clearly inappropriate words in tags, project notes and title (we already had that filter for comments).

I remember getting a comment from one of my games. It was really mean. So I deleted it and just ignored it. Of course there are mean people so just ignore them.

i was wondering, if a project that is not yours has a rude comment on it, what can u do? i've seen some projects w/ bad words in the comments- should i flag the project as inappropriate? i think there should be a word filter.
A great shame that you have chosen to take the small minority as representative of the whole community. There are plenty of really helpful people around here, and for every 1 project that is unpleasent, look at the number of really good ones whose owners have chosen to share them with you. Judge the scratch community by the literally hundreds of good projects that have been freely shared, not the few that you don't like.
i may not have posted a project but ive done a lot on scratch and even if there is a lot of people who write mean comments theres a lot of people like us that are nice. There is a lot of people like u that really hate bad comments but the thing is man isnt perfect not everybodys going to be nice and u have to know that. The thing is that u got to know there are a lot of bad people but theres a lot of good to.
What I really like about this project is that you have a strong feeling and message and are bold in expressing yourself without second thoughts. Let's see more projects about things like this -- things we find so crucial and present we must express them

I am part of the Scratch team and I am really sorry to hear that you are not happy with the community. We are a small team and we monitor Scratch every day of the week. We do our best to remove things that are inappropriate but we also depend on the community for this. As you can imagine, this is a challenging task. There are about 18,000 projects and more than 40,000 comments. Reviewing each one of them will take a lot of time. Also, having to approve every comment before it goes online would require lots of people and it will make the site less lively (a lot of people find it very rewarding to get immediate feedback). Sometimes is hard to decide if something should be removed or not because each person has different sensibilities. A comment that for someone is playful, funny or constructive for others might be rude and mean. That is why we give the power to project owners to delete comments. We are working on better ways of having automatic filtering and systems that make it harder for mean people to get noticed. If you report to us something that you think it's offensive we will review it as we do with everything that is flagged as inappropriate. I would love to hear your thoughts on what kind of things we can do to make this site better. Our goal is to provide a community where people are not afraid of sharing their ideas and creations, no matter how simple they are and also a place where people are free to voice their opinions in a respectful way. i am not quiting cuz of one person i am quiting because the number of rude people there are you are the first person i have seen with a nice comment.
I would like to refer to you, these people: mohlar, Mick, toontownmiser, Canthiar, ericr. These people are much friendlier than the person that made that comment. You should not quit because of one person! ONE PERSON! You aren't giving everybody else on this site a chance!
OK, listen. Not everybody on Scratch is mean. There are just some people out there who are mean and criticize everybody's work. That doesn't mean you shouldn't share any more of your projects! There are many people who get negative comments on their work, and they just shake it off. Just do what I do and ignore those people. Please continue to share your projects with the rest of the Scratch community. (continued next post)
