this whould be called an opptical illution, right?
Yes, it is a classical one. But does not behave as it should be in Scratch. In classical one the two photos are sticked together with a couple of threads between.

As you speed it up, the two images blend! But it is rather painful to watch :)
Yes, I guess the Java applet refresh is not in sync with the computer screen refresh rate. Some frames are displayed randomly more than others.
It hurts...
