i do GCSE french and for the asking someone's name and saying what your name is, it is spelt 'appelle', not appele, and to say "my name is", it is je m'appelle, not 'je'm appele'. You can also say 'comment t'appelles-tu', as well as 'comment tu t'appelle', and it's "salut", not 'salute'. Great start though! :)

Nice. There is a lot of bad pronunciation though eg. ca va, au revoir, Comment, t'appelle, Mal etc. Salut is also spelt wrong, it doesn't have an E on the end.

(view all replies)Cool but some letters are bad-writting and bad pronounced. Like "Au revoir" is bad pronounced and "tre's ..." is "très ..." and "ca va" is "Ça va". But don't worry because maybe you read some mistakes of english in this comment because I'm learning english (I'm spanish, and I know french because I started to learn it last september):)

(btw, when you say bien, you need to work on it a bit. Youre pronouncing 'bien' like you would say in Spanish *trust me, I speak fluently* It's similar, though!)
Nice!I have been taking French lessons since I was 1,(no joke!)and this is very good for beginners!No offense,but you need to work on your prununciation a little,espically when saying Tres.You need to roll the r in Tres,and you don't pronounce the ending vowel! Anyway,Great job!

Funny that you spell grammar wrong. And why does he need to work on grammar if he was just saying a few phrases?
What is Cole in french?
Names don't really translate, so...Cole! There are French versions of names, like John/Jean, but if you were to go to France you would still be Cole.

There are a few small errors: "Ca Va" can just be "Ca va," no capitalization. Though its not required, "Pas mal" means "not bad" "Salute" is actually "Salut," there is no E. "Bonsoir" is two words, Bon (good) Soir (night) And "Je'm appele" is "Je'mappelle," no space. Other than a few small errors, this is a good way to learn a couple words in French!
