We needed a program that would easily let you enter up to four digit numbers. Code can be improved (always).... Next step is to be able to update a digit by cycling through the costumes of the sprite.

Momgeek.. I was looking for something like this for types of projects I write. Still I wish Scratch provided a way to input values to variables as a built in function

That's pretty handy, thanks! The only improvement I can think of that you haven't mentioned is to have the keyboard input terminate when you type anything other than a left arrow into the GO area, rather than having to hunt for your mouse and click on GO. This one is going in my bag of tricks for sure!
