The differen method for changing the scene has been uploaded as #2. If you try that online - don't think it just ends with a black screen. Wait! (It runs faster when downloaded).
I do note really like speech bubbles. I used to use 'Tales Animator' which allows you to put subtitles on a screen. In the forum, I asked how this could be done in Scratch as it's a method I prefer for storytelling. 'mres' suggested using sprites which can, of course, be placed wherever you want on a screen using x and y values.
This first experiment is a simply-coded demo of the effect using four lines from a rhyme as the basis for four subtitles. I have deliberately not included any animated characters so that the experiment and code remain simple. However, I have also used modified backgrounds to start illustrating the rhyme.
I now intend to try exactly the same idea again with the same rhyme and backrgound, but with a different method for changing the scene to match the words.
