Sorry not sure what you mean by substituttion (in Scratch) Is there some coding I can use that will make my work easier. Or do you mean substitution of Pics/words/etc.
Download the 30 sprites and 83 scripts of "Spellrite" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
I have only been working with scratch for a couple of days.
I wanted a program that would help 'special needs' children to learn to type and spell simple words. (These are NOT the words I will be using with my students!!).
I wanted a program that can easily be changed. ie. pictures and words changed easily and the next stage will include sound (not expecting any problems with that).
My first question is:
Would it have been better to create sprites for each of pictures and have template so only need to change content of sprite and hence quickly change content - still stuck with having to place each letter.
Did have picture and word as one background and then put each letter on screen as it was typed. Not as interesting for student but maybe way to go.
Any thoughts / advice is welcome

Clever! Substitution would be a snap!
