I might have a solution to you glitch of passing through walls, download my new pacman ((link to project)">(link to project) and look at the pacman's scripts of avoiding moving through walls. it uses a X and Y veriable to determan the position it was last in when it was not touchin th wall and goes back to that spot.
great game! its very challenging and extreamly fun to play. i like he use of both X and Y scrolling to creata very confusing to follow maze. although there is a glitch or two (pressing down and left in a top left hand coner for example) the verall product is brilliant and the satisfaction of finlly finishing it is remarkable. definitly love it

Here's a game that uses my new 2D scrolling engine.
You control a robot named "O" using the arrow keys. The object is to find the gold star and put it in the star-shaped hole (which you see next to you when you start). You'll need to pick up keys which open specific doors that unlock parts of the maze. Remember that you can only carry one key at a time.
Things that could be improved:
1. Add music and sound effects 2. Make the game less linear and more challenging 3. It's possible, though unlikely, to go through the walls and end up outside the maze.
You'll see, if you look at the code, that you could easily change the backgrounds and make your own map-based game. I used nine backgrounds (a 3x3 grid), but you can use as many as you like as long as you set up the variables properly in the four map sprite scripts.

Thanks for the comment! I'll take a look at paddle2see's game and see if I can get any ideas about sensing. That's the Achilles' Heel of this game.
