WOW! really cool! my friend and i are trying to do a solar system one! i think urs is wayy better than what ours is going to turn out like! we are going to show people how much they weigh on each planet!
I really like this project. When you click on the various planets, you show a picture of it. It might be nice to optionally overlay some text on that which shows some basic facts about the planet, like the names of moons, when discovered and by whom, size, distance from the Sun, relative gravity to Earth, length of year, etc. Nice job!
Featured projects are projects that the scratch team (administrators of the website) have selected. They usually choose projects that show diversity, and creativity, in the scratch community.
NONE of the planets revolve around eachother. There are no physics involved in the project. I you looked at the scripts you would see that i just used the "turn_degrees" block.
1more bug after some time the moon goes away from the orbit and start revolving sun if u had done it intentionally then thats right cool physics and if its done accedently thats right too cause 1 day moon will left the orbit
Download the 36 sprites and 177 scripts of "Solar System" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
A simulation of our solar system. Demonstrates the speed of the other planets compared with the Earth. You can align them, scatter them, and set a date you wish to view them at. Keyboard shortcuts and further instructions in the project. You can turn the dwarf planets on/off by going to the options menu. Some of the names may be unfimiliar but ALL of the dwarf planets are real. If you find a bug, have a question, or a suggestion, leave a comment.

Others have remixed and done that. I may too... but not now. :)
don't forget ceres
i didn't. try to find it.
(view all replies)cool eris, makemake, haumea and pluto
Especiall elliptical orbits. Is there way?
cool, I wan't to know how to make them move. I want to make something similar, but with comets...
Great but 1 bug I found: if you pull the speed slider all the way right, speed is said to be 0.0 but the planets still move.
thats 10.0. The 1 is cut off
(view all replies)1000 views! thanks people! :D :D :D
exactly 1000!!!!!!!:D
999 view
woot!
i love it!
u should make it that u can type in a date
i'll try.
Is this made with 1.4?
Thats what it says. Right?
wheres pluto
do align planets, it's the closest dwarf planet to neptune.
(view all replies)look harder.
(view all replies)go to the options menu and click on: "show dwarf planets"
(view all replies)COOL!!! ice-cool! this is I-M-P-R-E-S-S-I-V-E!! ;)
Wow.
ilike ur game alot u r good
muy educativo
¡Gracias!
(view all replies)Interesting animation... Where'd you get thelittle dots posing as planets?
What a great work !!!
100th love it :P
Yay!
Sweet project! I did a solar system project. It's called 'Planet Billiards'
beautiful
neptune's not moving
Fixed! try again now.
I'll fix it now...
neptune not moving:(
Q makes a neptune go red
Go here and you will get it: http://scratch.mit.edu/users/myredneptune Its a joke.
Very amazing! I like how you show all the planets in the solor system. It is so realistic! :)
cool
this is a nice project, maybe the best simulation i have seen at scratch.
WOW (link to project)
awesome!
Its cool however
lol venus crashed into earth besides cant you stimulate when the sun turns into a red giant or when it blows up
Can I be your friend?
I'm sorry, but a freindship has no use unless both users know each other well enough.
I love this animation! It is so cool and impressive!!
wow!cani be ur buddy/
I responded to your comment on (link to project)
I'll go look...
very nice
you are very nice.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
THIS PROJECT IS GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What does a "featured" project mean?

(view all replies)There are no moons in this project. Those are dwarf planets.
(view all replies)oops that was ceres that was revolving round mars my mistake but it looked as moon
1more bug after some time the moon goes away from the orbit and start revolving sun if u had done it intentionally then thats right cool physics and if its done accedently thats right too cause 1 day moon will left the orbit
You know, space stuff are my favorite stuff.
Hows about a space game? (link to project)
awsome!!!!!
its cool...but i have a question...where is the moon?
There is none. If I were to include the moon the planets would get very crowded (see how close together thay are when lined up)
Rather awesome.
WOAH. AWESOME!!!!!!!
w00t
great.
nice
awesome! going straight to my gallery!
Pretty dang sweet.
one of the best projects ever made
I wouldn't say that...
If earth was that close to the sun we would have been burning and eventually dead.
Didn't I already say: "not to scale"?
(view all replies)Is Ceres really that close to Earth or to mars for that matter.
it is between mars and jupiter.
(view all replies)Nice user interface but it would be great if you could hide the menu unless you can already
amazing!
