Wow! Your way of making the city below move is way way way way way way way way way way way easier than M44's! I Bless the day I found this game! You are truly amazing at this.
Wow, this is amazing! Artwork like this is hard to come by on Scratch. (The squid is from NOTC right?) Just one suggestion: the stars use the MIDI interface to play a sound when they are hit, and this has to be loaded the first time it is used, not necessarily when the project loads, resulting in a brief pause in gameplay. My suggestion: force the MIDI to load when the game starts. See this project: (link to project)
ohhhh... only 30 delicious stars before i croaked. but i'll keep trying because i want to get the "Squidpocalypse" that i keep hearing so much about.
this is a great game, one of my favorite aspects being the
audio... there's a lot to tune into, which makes me think it would be fun to hear the some screaming and shouting as the ships fell--but i can already hear the voices of the irked captains loud and clear.
320! Love the Squidpocalypse addition, only got it once but it kept me playing to try to get it again. I think if you wanted to build on this you could introduce variants in the airships, maybe have some of them be attacking warships and some of them tasty passengers (if you're big enough). When you get big, it's not super fun at the moment because you're squeezing through tiny corridors, it's almost more fun when you get shrunk down and can zip around.
- Arrow keys to move. - Spacebar to squirt upwards. - Stars good. - Airships bad.
Control the giant Kraken as it dreams of devouring stars. The more it eats, the larger it gets. Grow large enough and get the Giant Squid bonus doubling the value of all the stars you eat. Grow larger still and the Colossal Squid bonus will give you 3x the points. Just remember a larger squid is a larger target and hitting things hurts.
If you keep growing you will eventually trigger the Squidpocalypse gaining 50 stars and a short period of invincibility to wreak your squidy doom.
Hitting the ground or airships will cause the Kraken to shrink and damage it's delicate heart. Luckily Kraken are quick to heal and if it avoids being hurt for a short period it's broken heart will heal and grow strong again.
However if the Kraken's heart is destroyed or if the Kraken itself shrinks too small it will die.
This project does not currently work properly with the online player. But runs great in the project view in Scratch.
The Kraken Dreams was created by modifying the original scrolling performer code that came with scratch adding original art and scripts to the point of unrecognizability.
