It's a very common animation program, that uses the Flash Player format to put content online. In the case of my icon, I just exported an animation as an animated .gif. You can get Flash for free with a 30-day trial at # Non-members may check out a read-only working copy anonymously over HTTP.
svn checkout http://scratchonflash.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ scratchonflash-read-only , and you can buy it for about $250 at campustech.com
Download and see :X! Actually, depending on which method you choose, it only adds the mouse position if it's significantly different from the previous one, or only once in a set interval of time.
This project records your mouse trail (egads!) and then tries to play it back as fast as possible, without great detail. Select between two modes at the bottom. Use the variable "precision" to select the precision, but because I'm lazy, 1 is the greatest detail and 10 is the least. Download to work!

Really good, did you create your own mouse recording method? If not, what one did you use?
