there are 12 pieces in checkers not 8!!

Its good, although you can move pieces anywhere, people can spot cheating with a friend, LOVE IT !!!

YOU can copy to a cd if you have a burner or one of those usb ubs whatever they are storage devices. I would save before downloading new scratch .
I didn't loose any when i downloaded 1.2 but to be safe i copied all my project to my screen first.you can right click on scratch icon on screen. then click on properties then click on find target then click on projects folder when it opens copy projects and paste to screen then you can,t loose them.
As far as dealing with the dead pieces, if you don't want them to pile up, you could deal with it by only applying the snap grid when the mouse is with certain values of X. Or when not touching certain sprites, or something like that. It does add a bit of complexity, but not too much.

This is a great idea! And nicely done too. Here's an improvement that would make it even better: have the piece locations rounded to a grid so they are centered automatically in the square that they are dropped in. If you need help with the programming, look at Battleship or String Art in my projects, they both use a snap grid of some sort. Nice job!
