Hi, andresmh,
I thank you for your wised words. I’m a portuguese old man and, for historical reasons, my blood is a melting pot of european, arabian, jewish, asiatic, south-american and african bloods. I’m no racista at all; so, I feel free to play with the typical aspects of mankind, all over the world and inside my own country, with the different ways of talking and behaviour of my dear fellows. As you noticed it does’nt involve any offensive intention but it’s only a naive way to joke with myself, i.e. with ourselves.
This is a very well crafted project. I can see you worked hard on this one. However, I am afraid a good number of people would consider the use of stereotypical images highly offensive and even racist. Seems like you didn't have any intention of being offensive. But I wonder if you could change the animation to avoid offensive stereotypes? I didn't grow up in the US and I didn't learn about this until recently. I rememer not understanding why images like this were offensive since in Mexico they were always used an I never heard any controversy about it. However, after learning the background on these kind of stereotypes, I found out why they are offensive. My take on it is that even if we don't know that we are being offensive, once we find out that something is offensive to a specific group of people (especially groups that have typically suffered from marginalization) then we should avoid it. My friend referred to me to these articles to learn more about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_face http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereotypes_of_East_and_Southeast_Asians Thanks and I hope you continue using Scratch as an outlet for creative expression!
Download "Kings2008"(10 sprites and 15 scripts) and open it in Scratch

This is incredible! Clearly, a lot of work. A nice blend of story, humor, animation and music. One of the best stories I've seen in Scratch.
