Congratulations Brandon1. I believe you. During the tests, I reached near 200.0 several times, because I put the trains running each one on its loop and, when they became too much close I sent one to the external rail until they change the loops and everything began again with a comfortable distance between them.
Fanocp, I went into your projects and I must say to you that they have several gaps. I think it’s normal because you are just beginning and testing the Scratch’s instructions. But I also think you need some more than to correct those faults. I advise you to download http://scratch.wik.is/@api/deki/files/125/=Explorando_o_ScratchGP.pdf It’s a short manual I’ve written to help newcomers. Unfortunately it’s in portuguese language but, if you don’t know a friend who can translate it, you let me know an email adress and I’ll translate it as soon as I can. Don’t give up. First attempts are always disappointing to everybody. And you can count on me to help you as I can do it.
Logan, if you went into the code of this project, you’ll see that there are five critical points which divide the path in sections of circumference. Each section has two scripts: clokwise and counterclokwise. The sections successive points are calculated by trigonometric means. (Later, we can talk about this, if you don’t know what it is). When one train reaches to a critical point, it turns right or left along with the value of a variable, which we can change with the arrow keys. Besides, each train broadcasts a message to the next point on its path, in order to change it.
In what the translation is concerned, all the project instructions are in scratch english, except the names and messages, but these have no great mean at all. Keep in touch.
tcb, I’m afraid I cannot accept your nice offer because I spend all my scratch time answering comments, helping new programmers, visiting galleries of those who left comments in my projects and, last but not the least, developping my own projects. Sorry.
: I thank you all for your kind comments. Yes, OldSchooler2, I’m a portuguese scratcher. Yes, Zombien, the graphics could be better. I draw my own sprites when I cannot find proper images in NET or in books. So, I drew the trains and the railroad in Scratch canvas. The landscape is an aerial photograph of Azores just in the middle of Atlantique where there aren’t trains neither rails.
INSTRUÇÕES (INSTRUCTIONS)
Há dois comboios andando nos mesmos carris. O vermelho é um pouco mais rápido. Faz-se a agulha com as setas esquerda e direita. A passagem do comboio abre automaticamente a via. Clicar a bandeira para iniciar ou recomeçar. Se os comboios colidirem de frente, morrem, pára a contagem do tempo e o jogo acaba.---------------
You have two trains running on the same rails. The red one is a bit faster. You can shift the points with left and right arrows. The train opens the points automaticaly. Click the green flag to begin or reset. If the trains crash head against head, they pass out, the timer stops and the game finish.
