I solved it start by stacking all of the dots except two so that it makes a triangle then start moving dots off the stack so that they dont intersect eventually youll get it
Played around with your project for a while for fun. I think it is possible to detect whether the lines intersect, I wrote how to do this in the remix's project notes. Cheers!
I had an idea for how to program the winning thing in. basically my idea was to set up a variable and every time the pen draws a line that doesn't cross over another one it adds to the new variable. since there are 21 lines in the game (I think. It gets hard to count them) the variable would reach 21 once there are no lines crossing over each other.
The problem: if you move a line that didn't cross over another and then back again it would still add to the variable. its still something to go on
This is the coolest thing I've seen on Scratch in weeks! Just awesome. I solved it...but I have not figured out a check for solution, despite DrSuper's misplaced belief in my divine nature!
The only think I could think of would be test all line segment combinations using a line crossing test. The math isn't too complex, but performing the test on all 200 or so combinations would be sloooooow. And it's hardly worth the trouble - when you've won you already know it.
Download the 11 sprites and 44 scripts of "untangle it" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Move the points so that none of the lines cross.
I couldn't figure out a way to sense when the lines are all uncrossed, so there's no winner message. If someone has an idea how to get it to work, I'd like to hear it.

I'd really like to see a screenshot of that, Techno! See if you can load one up. Or if you don't want to spoil the game for all, email it here.

You need to ask paddle2See he is god and will know how to figure out once some one is done.
This is very hard. I am one of the best untanglers in the world and am not getting anywhere but I shall.
got it! i tried making this game once, but i had the same problem.

(view all replies)this is sick nasty!!!
cool! this is sort of like that game where every one grabs a hand and then everyone trys to get untangled.
great game idea!
It’s a real Gordio node, but I succed. Beautiful puzzle. I love it
i did it! its fun.. lol
