Download the 40 sprites and 99 scripts of "Asteroids - Infinate…" and open it in Scratch Project Notes
This is a take on the classic asteroids game, but with many changes. The sound track is from bionic commando from the NES. The graphics come from random free sources on the internet. Gameplay: Use the arrow keys to turn and up and down to fire rockets to speed up and slow down. Press the space bar to fire. There are 3 powerups, Health (gears) gives you 10 extra health, shield gives you a 2 hit shield (saves you from 2 hits), this can be stacked for a total of 4 hits of protection. And the superman logo, which gives you 10 seconds of super powers (you can not die, and you can ram asteroids). You have 100 health, with no max health, each hit takes away your health (big = 50, Medium = 30 or 40, and small = 20) See how far you can get, and good luck.

Hey, can anyone tell me what's the code list for moving the ship move forward? I downloaded the game and looked for it but it does not work on my asteroids game... -.- I need that for the next wednesday in school...can anyone help me please?? :(

I hope you realise that THERE CANNOT BE EXPLOSIONS IN SPACE! Good game though, if a bit slow... level 100 is NUTS!

I've been away for a while. Work and such. I've wanted to revisit this for some time now. Hopefully I'll update it sometime soon.
Generally, pretty good! I was an addict of the original game (lots of quarters spent!) so a few things bothered me here. My biggest problem was that the ship carries speed when it turns. In space (and the original game), your ship continues along a straight line until you apply thrust to change it. That gave me a lot of trouble. Quite good overall!
I think my version of Asteroids works the way you describe it should - mine is still in development so isn't finished yet but has UFO's and powerups.(link to gallery)

Sometimes an asteroid appears right on top of you.
Nice work. Have you considered "wrapping" the ship to the opposite side rather than bouncing it off of the edge?

Like Phycrow, this is one to download and learn from. Some brilliant effects here AND you've obviously solved a problem that has been bugging me .... how to have a soundtrack playing over a long sequence of actions and scenes. Great stuff. Who says Scratch is only for simple projects???

I liked the game. A bit laggy when you have a bunch of stuff on screen at once, but otherwise a good game. I would like to see other projects of yours in the future. By the way, level 19 after a few tries and figuring out what was going on. (as far as controls and mods that you aquire.)

Love the game. The explotion took my laptop to its limit and it over heated and shut down. You can lift my explotion of Monster_attack if you want. It works quite well if you ghost it as you change the size. Otherwise as soon as I hit something it all grinds to a stop. until the explosion have gone.
