Hmm, I want to help the environment too, I think its HORRIBLE that trees are getting cutdown and all this smelly pollution that's filling the air with toxic cr@p. I'm only saying that humans aren't causing "global warming."

And you think I only used one source... why? I used lots, and verified them with atmospheric data? In the past, CO2 levels have never coordinated with temperatures, yet solar irradance seems to always (to within about an eighth a degree) coordinate with temperature.

I am tired of this. You can have your opinion if you want. I am going to have mine. Anyway don't you think that there are other reasons to help to the enviornment? Well if a few years you will realize that I was right all along.

No offense, but your logic and ethics are kinda... "dumb" (sorry), if one of my facts is wrong (i got them from this book, which you should read) chances are... the same as before. Example: If I say Cyclone103 doesn't like cheese (he loves it), that does not mean he doesn't like pie.

The thing is that when presenting facts if one is wrong than they all can be wrong because it suggests that your scource is unreliable.

And only 3% of all greenhouse gasses are man-made, and humans actually use more CO2 than they produce (which is a bad thing)

I have stoped believing you facts. HUMANS DO NOT USE CARBON DIOXIDE. If one of your facts is wrong than odds are they all are

(view all replies)

maki maki 2 months ago

*sigh* that doesn't mean it's man-made, there have been times before when it was over 7 degrees warmer on global average, plus, Antarctica is actually getting cooler, what other reason would there be for more ice on the poles.

(view all replies)

maki maki 2 months ago

Because Earth is more sensitive to solar activities because our magnetic field (which protects us from solar wind) is going to flip soon (in the next few thousand years), and also, if you put a chart of temperatures and "greenhouse gas" quantities together, they wouldn't relate at all, BUT if you put a chart of Solar Irradiance and temperatures together, they would pretty much be the exact same. I also made a project recently about global warming.

If that doesn't convince you, i have some more facts...............

dlc dlc 2 months ago

First of all even if CO2 levels don't relate (which I doubt) Did you check to see if temperatures relate to the other greenhouse gases. Second if Global Warming is caused by solar activity then why isn't there the same warming on other planets. Third you are wrong about us emerging from a ice age. The temperatures are much higher than they have been in the last several hundred million years.

(view all replies)

dlc dlc 2 months ago

Third ice that is already in water does not raise water levels but ice on land like Antartica does. Second of all the medevil warming period only seems like is was good for human kind because it took place around the time the middle ages (400-1400AD) were ending and in the middle ages there was bad hygene, and little technology. After the middle ages that improved. Even though climate is always changing since the industrial revelution the temperature has climbed more than it ever has before.

Inluding when the world was coming out of a ice age. Also the industrial revelution was when humans started using things such as cole, electricity ect. Since global warming started the same time as the industrial revelution then it seems that Global Warming is man made.

The Medeival Warm Period (1000ad-1500ad) was significantly warmer than present day Earth, and was a golden age for life span, agriculture, and innovation. Only a small portion of "greenhouse'pollutants'" are Man-made. And Climate is ALWAYS changing, with or without humans.

...was already in the water, anything that liquifies in the water will not raise the water level, this is because the density of the object would be ALREADY raising the water level equally, if you don't beleive me, try it out with an ice-cube in a cup of water.

maki maki 2 months ago

We are, in fact, emerging from an ice age, which, by scientific definition, has not ended yet, a "normal" climate would have an ice-free Earth. And the small portion of melting ice wouldn't have any effect if it...

Well, Co2 and Temperatures don't relate AT ALL (look up Co2 and Temperature graphs), The rise of temperatures DOES relate to the amount of radiation emitted by the sun. Carbon Dioxide is actually GOOD for the environment, it helps plants grow better, thus helping our economy.

1st problem is that if put all this $ to stop GB - global warming, it won't change it enough to stop it. If we put the same amount of $ to helping people with malaria, we could same thousands of lives. 2nd, the only reason there isn't a debate about it GB exists is because if a scientist says anything against it he looses his job. 3rd didn't just some 30 years ago we say that we were going into global cooling. BTW, they tell you the death caused from heat has gone up but the cold death is down!

dlc dlc 2 months, 1 week ago

First of all scientists who say global warming is real get fired by the Bush administration. If we spend $ to stop global warming then the world will get colder meaning less mosquitos that carry malaria and less people who get malaria. Third of all thirty years ago the technology that allowed people to see long term trends in climate was little or not at all. And you last comment is completely opposite from your point.

Polar bears rock, but could of choose a better topic. There are many scientists that are against global warming, however their options are not taken to the media as much as Al Gore. (sigh)

There are quite a lot of useful suggestions here. I find that when I ride a bike or adjust my thermostat I feel much freer as if I don't need the complex machinery of cars and climate control.
