to OJY321: That is crazy slow! I have not seen that on any PC's I tried this on. Response is always immediate. The keys are all event driven and should respond immediately. Do you have this with other games too?
Good, hard and glitchy. The Glitch is that some of the keys respond about 2 or 5 minutes later! when I pressed c, it didn't come up, so I treid to remember the home screen, about 2 minutes later, the help finaly came up, the same happend with power, I treid to add more because it was on 0, but it didn't respond, about 2 or 5 mins later the power bar shot up.
Sorry, the latest update causes unexpected collisions due to the propwash containing collision colors when it is rotated. Unfortunately this only happens in the on-line version. A fix will be posted until it is solved.
I assume you pressed space to start the game. Give it about half power (arrow up)and let the engine do it's work for a few seconds. The ship will slowly accelerate. Let me know if that doesn't solve your problem.
Hey, Dinther; this is fascinating, but I can't seem to get the ship moving... I'm using the arrow keys; is there something else I should be pressing? =P
Hi everyone. I posted an update. Nice interface and background sounds. Especially the turn rate indicator is handy. It shows in an exaggerated way how fast the boat is turning. Be super patient with the rudder and power. Large ships don't respond that fast.
To Katiepox: Yeah, huge ships thend to be slow and once you got them moving they are hard to stop. Same goes for turning. It is definitely not a fast paced arcade game.
sry but i dont really get how it works... well i think i do get it but is runs so slowley that it is really hard to do. the controles take about 10 seconds to kick in from when you push them.
I am running every program I see and provide honest comments. And yes I am promoting my program because I think it deserves it. There is no other way on this site to get attention (Rating systems and the like)
Thanks bigB for your tips! I will sure have a look at your scrolling code tonight and change my project to make it faster. With more speed I can also do a nice prop wash behind the boat.
very good. it runs very slowly though. when i downloaded it i modified it to go 10x quicker. that was very hard to control though. also to make it run faster you can get rid of the murky water colour in the moving background sprites as that is the same colour as the background.
H=Horn R=Reverse C=Help Arrow Keys=Power and rudder
New is a help screen that you can bring up by pressing the C key
Steer this ship into the harbour. Large ships have a lot of inertia so take it easy on the power and rudder and be patient.
The entire map is visible on the introduction screen. You start outside the harbour and you need to follow the dark dots into the harbour. You are finished when the entire boat is docked inside the light marked rectangle at a speed of near zero.
Don't crash into the docks or you need to start all over again.
