Wow, you used to send a newsletter by email? I used to do that too, and made newsletters each month that I sent to about 35 people. Unfortunately, that went on for only 6 months :-(
Cool project! Here in Bangor, Maine they do a spoof of this. They wrap a string of battery powered Christmas lights around a beach ball and heave it off the roof of a downtown building. It's pretty funny!
This is awesome! I've always wanted to see the ball descend. I didn't know that it was made of Waterford crystals though! They make my mom's perfume too! Lol!
Very cool! I'd love to know how, if and when New Years is celebrated in other countries. I know the Chinese calendar doesn't have it till later this month.
A project about the New Year celebration in Times Square. Contained is my Scratch logo for the New Year as well, which I spent a long time on and put a lot of effort into.
FEAUTURED 1/1/09! TOP VIEWED 1/1/09 and 1/2/09! TOP LOVED!

Wikipedia has the dates or approximate dates for the New Year in many different countries - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year#Modern_new_year_celebrations">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year#Modern_new_year_celebrations
