I can't quite remember, but I believe I did add an "if..else" block to prevent the Scratch Cat from walking too far in either direction. For this project, I added a bunch of comments on the scripts to explain everything I did, so you can download this project and see all my explanations on how everything works. ^^

I apologize for the useless comment that follows this sentence: Do you actually like cheese? And is your favorite type of cheese cheddar?
XD, yes, I love cheese! And yes, cheddar is one of my favorite cheese. But, to be honest, my name has nothing to do for my love of cheese... 'cheddar' was actually a nickname of mine a while back. I actually wanted the username 'cheddar' on the Scratch website, but it was already taken, so I had to go with 'cheddargirl' instead.

Ah, well, I believe that speaking clearly and calmly is important; and expressing and listening to each others' viewpoints with respect is more beneficial to a community instead of throwing flaming spam in each others faces all day ^^.

This game is ok but a. maby a little more things and b. the cat goes too slow like he's went to the fish and chips store and eat two half pound burgers lol
Or maybe he ate the burger on top of the store with the fries and shake :D
Yeah, it's not really a game yet, I just wanted to see how scrolling is accomplished in Scratch and how it looks and feels like in the Java player (that's why it's an experiment for now). But thank you very much for the helpful feedback :)

Do you know any way I could put other sprites that don't scroll? (like enamies)
Hmm... this project isn't really a scrolling platformer game, and I'm not really good at designing scrolling platformer games. Maybe you may want to check out some other scrolling platformer games here on Scratch - demosthenes's God's Quest is a pretty good scroller game that includes enemies. :)

Left should work unless you're standing at the edge of the city limits (if you're at the beginning, pressing left will not work, if you're at the end, pressing right will not work).

lol, scratch smite, lol. how did you make the background look so clean? and even?
Ah, I used an image template: I created an image with lines that served like a sketch for the basic architecture and layout for the city so everything is even, following a certain design. In cases where the buildings are split between costumes (like the courthouse), the trick is duplicating the image and flipping the image horizontally; the part of the building I want to keep is left untouched while the rest of the image is manipulated however I want it.

is all of the picture drawn by you?
Pretty much everything was drawn by me except for the brick facade of the police station and the firehouse (I took the bricks from one of the images pre-installed with the Scratch interface). And, of course, the Scratch Cat isn't drawn by me either.

Yes, I drew them all in the Scratch Paint editor. Took me a long time considering I drew them with a mouse (no tablet :P).

This project only focuses on scrolling and has no gameplay design to it. You may want to look at demosthenes "God's Quest" as a better example. (link to project)
