Well, as long as they're zombie rats, then that's okay then! Death to the zombie rats! 48 throws. Oh, and the little arrows on the control dots are a big help.
Modified the circles so you can tell which direction they correspond to. Also, we've decided that the rats are zombie robot rats intent on world domination, so don't feel bad about exterminating them :)
I was just going to complain about not knowing which yellow circle the boomerang starts with when I noticed the tiny directions arrows that are displayed when you drag the circles, absolutely neat!
70 throws! But Paddle2See is right: It nearly broke my heart to kill the little mice in level 5, lol! Great game with a professional look and feel, you could put this one on my iPod!
Only 57 throws that time! The last two mice took about 30 throws on their own but now that I know how to use the different boomerangs to maximize their different characteristics, I think a mid 30's score is possible.
Well, it took me 93 throws, but I got to the end. Things got easier once I realized I could reverse the travel direction by swapping the dots - should have been odvious but I'm still pretty sleepy. Maybe there should be some differentiation between the dots to encourage people to make that connection? Something to indicate sequence...one small marking on the first control dot, two on the second? My only other complaint is that the rats are too cute! I felt bad killing them off, especially the little babies. I'm a soft-hearted guy, I guess. But this a great game, truly unique and a lot of fun to play.

Project Notes
Set path of boomerang with yellow circles, then press [space] to throw. 1-3 buttons change type of boomerang. Hit all the zombie robot rats in each level (5 levels total). Try to do it in the least amount of throws. This is basically Paddle2See's Bezier curve program, which I thought would be the good basis for a number of games, with a few rats thrown in. The sprites are from a site Mayhem mentioned once: reinerstileset.4players.net

I beat the game in 108 throws. |P Now I'm tired of Bezier curves, boomerangs, and bushes.
I don't talk about my number of throws. I did it a lot. So I have a lot of fun in one single game. I loved it.
Nice!
